New Year 2009-2010
Hi everyone!
Let me tell you something... T's brother just called and said that he's coming with his fiance to us for Christmas and New Year. Yay, fun! But what he didn't know was that I've already six of my friends that are coming for new year (we made that arrangment over 6 months ago) So it will be very interesting to see how we can manage to have 8 guest in our apartment. Speaking of apartment, we are moving next week! Our lease expires in the end of this month, so we've been apartment hunting these couple of weeks.
Anyway, I'll try to update as much as I can so you can read about it. But from my previews experience, I know that I won't have any time for blogging once my guests have arrived. Expect some abscence from this blog (again). I've a feeling that we're going to have a very memorable New Year!
I've made pesto!
You need about two pots of basil. If you plock the basil this way (picture) you'll give the small baby basil a chance to grow and you'll have new fresh basil in about 1 week =)
Slightley toast about 50 grams of pine nuts on a dry pan. I love pine nuts, so I toasted a little bit more for some midnight snack =P
Grad about 100 grams of Parmesano Reggiano and you'll also need a clove of garlic.
Put everything in a food processor and pour in some deliciouse olive oil to get a smooth texture like this:

Sandstorm in Dubai

Wow...today has been a really crazy sandstormy day. Just walking from the taxi to the building made you covered in sand. And when I came home, I noticed a thin thin layer of sand (clay & silt) everywhere. Damn it, does that means more cleaning?!
Swea Matlag!
Har traffat pa nagra vanner har som ar medlemar pa SWEA (ett natverk for svenska kvinnor som bor utomlands). Darmed blev jag lite intresserad av att ga med ocksa. Igar var jag pa ett s.k. matlag dar vi ar 8 pers som traffas en gang i manaden for att laga lite mat tillsammans. Det var jul-tema igar och vi lagade mycket smatt och gott =D

I've been longing for this handbag for the past 5 years! I know, I'm kind of pathetic to have cravings for a hand bag! But I can't help it. It's just the perfect bag. I can have everything in it, everything. I just love love love it! I've had two dupes of this Bayswater, one from Denmark and one from China. The one from China was actually a really good dupe with really nice leather. But, it's starting to fall apart now. I've had it for 3-4 years, so it have surved it's purpose.
So if there is a Sainta Clause out there, I've been really really good this year *blink blink*

Da Shi Dai with A
Seems like everything I write about have some connection to food. But that is what I love!!!
I went to Da Shi Dai here in Jumeirah Beach Residence today with A to eat some dim sum! It's not "really" dim sum, but it's good enough for me. Love their Char Siu bao (made of chicken). Didn't have my camera with me, so I couldn't take any pictures. The picture above is an old photo.
Then later that night I was invited home to A to have dinner there. Great dinner and met some new friends from Abu Dhabi. I learned how to make Ma Po Tofu (the easy way =D) Yay!

"Grass widow" in 10 days
T is in Sweden for work, so I have the whole flat to myself for 10 days, yay! I was planing to detox while he is gone so I don't have to hear about any complainments about the food. So the first thing I did was to grocery shopping.

I love when my grocery basket if full of fresh fruits, berries, vegetables and herbs. Don't look to the left where the cookies are =P
I like to do a "wild card" once a week. That just means that I like to try new things, and this week it is this Butternut. I just love the sape and the color of it. I don't know what I'll make of this yet, but I'm sure that I'll find something faboluse online =D

Sorry for the bad update. Have so much to write that I don't know here to start.
Let's start with the best news.
I've got a job... not for sure, because I'm still on probation, BUT I have a JOB! I don't want to go in to any details about the job, but it's a position as an engineer. I've been here for three weeks now and it's so exiting!
Alright...this is just a quick update. More updates to come =)
